I had the privilege of photographing little Miss Olivia when she was a newborn in the fall. She has a sweet big sister, Emma, who was such a cute little helper. Olivia’s session was a little more traditional than the style that I usually shoot, but we got some shots simliar to the ones big sis Emma had when she was born.
Emma Claire
I had a great portrait session with this sweet family who recently moved to Memphis & welcomed baby Emma Claire to the family. Big brother, Hayden, took some warming up, but really got in on the action by the time we were wrapping up. Emma Claire was a great age to photograph because we were able to get some shots of her awake & sleeping.
This was her mother, Emily’s, dress when she was a baby! Love, love, love the sentimental touch!
Hayden was very excited to be playing on Mama & Daddy’s bed…something that is usually a no-no. I couldn’t decide which image of him playing I liked better, so I just had to add them both.
This is one of my all-time favorite images! I already have it hanging in my studio.
Luke’s Second Session
Mr. Luke had the second of his Year In the Life sessions & he has turned into quite the little cheeser! I love how he wrinkles up his nose when he smiles really big.
We got these fun shots sort of in between “setups.” Mommmy & Daddy started playing airplane & that’s all it took to get these great giggles.
Stephen & Amanda
Guys, listen up & take a lesson from Stephen…he surprised his sweet wife, Amanda, with a photo session. I can just tell you that this is ALWAYS a great gift idea. He did it the right way too…Stephen made all the arrangements for the actual session, but still let Amanda be in on the details like choosing outfits & such. Way to go Stephen! Let me just warn you, though, that as a newlywed you’ve set the bar pretty high for the rest of your gifts throughout your marriage.
Mylan
Well, the very same week that Miss Evie graduated from her Year In the Life, I had the privilege of photographing a new Year In the Life baby, Miss Mylan, for her first of four sessions. Doesn’t she have gorgeous brown eyes? She gets those from her precious mama, Jessica. You’ll be seeing more of Miss Mylan as we capture her first year.
Erin
Take a good look at Erin ’cause she’ll be famous one day. Erin is an aspiring actor who contacted me a while back about getting some new headshots. How fun! Now, I love photographing children, but I told Erin it was quite a treat not to have to chase my subject around for a change! Erin is a photographer’s dream & I had a blast photographing her.
Mr. Max
You may remember Max from around this time last year. His sweet mom, Sarah, has his portrait made around his birthday each year & I had the honor of photographing him again this year. Max loves trains & balls, so we had a little fun with my bocci ball set at the Memphis Botanic Gardens. He doesn’t stay still long, but the koi in the Japanese garden kept his interest long enough to capture some sweet shots.
Evie Graduates!
My babies are growing up! First Anderson, now Evie…letting these Year In the Life babies go is harder than I thought! Miss Evie had her final Year In the Life session last month & you can’t really tell it, but she was not too keen on having her portrait made that day (she’s quite the professional). She had a little earache so she wasn’t in the mood for much fuss. We still had a good session & got some sweet shots to wrap up her year.
This is Miss Evie’s birthday crown. Isn’t she just too much!
Lauren & Trey’s Wedding
Lauren & Trey were married this summer on August 1 in Lauren’s family’s church in Braden, TN. Now, I photographed a wedding last year on August 2 & it turned out to be the hottest day of the year, so we were all psyched up to battle the heat to get the outdoor shots we wanted. To our surprise, we had some mild temps, but rain! It just poured down for most of the morning & early afternoon! We were blessed with a break in the weather, so after Trey & Lauren had a special moment to see each other we all headed over to a sweet friend, Teresa’s, beautiful home to snap some shots on her gorgeous porch. We also used a nearby warehouse for some fun groom shots. Lauren’s mom, Barbara, made each of the bridesmaids a pair of flip-flops to wear at the reception…aren’t they too cute?
The sanctuary in Lauren’s church had the most beautiful stained glass windows, so I took advantage of the color they add to some detail shots.
Gotta love a barefoot flower girl!
Lauren & Trey’s reception was held nearby at the Covington Country Club.
Thanks so much, Lauren & Trey, for allowing me to capture your special day!
Lauren’s Bridal Session
So, let’s just work under the assumption that I am waaaay behind on my blog posts & I’ll let you know when I begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now, I did intentionally hold off on posting my favorites from Lauren’s bridal session until after she & Trey were married. Lauren’s bridal session was way back in the spring & I still feel stressed thinking about it because the weather did not look like it was going to cooperate & we could not reschedule! As you can see from the images, the weather held off for us & we actually had ideal cloudy conditions for Lauren’s beautiful portraits.
